Vinicius Burn-Out é um video de uma hora de duração, com enquadramento fixo no rosto de um DJ em seu ofício. Usando os habituais fones de ouvido, o que se observa da figura no quadro são suas reações ao que está ouvindo: gesticulando, balançando a cabeça, em movimentos progressivos, nossa única pista do inacessível canal entre fone e ouvido, o que acontece apenas no espaço privado de sua cabeça.
O título é uma referência ao trabalho Stooges Burn-Out, de Douglas Gordon de 1995, onde ele, Dave Allen e Jonathan Monk tocam o riff clássico de três notas da música do Stooges “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, enquanto um cigarro queima como um pavio no braço da guitarra e o solo nunca chega. Aqui porém, o som não é compartilhado, ele acontece num espaço alheio ao do observador, que pode apenas imaginar o tom e a intensidade crescente, a reverberação e o balanço, tudo descrito pela linguagem acumulativa dos gestos. Metáfora de contenção, Vinicius Burn-Out trata do silêncio repressivo e dos transbordamentos incontíveis da linguagem. O som que é inaudível mas incendeia através dos movimentos do corpo, faíscas de ruído. As “octaladas” do corpo “possuído”.

Vinicius Burn-Out is an hour-long video, with a fixed frame on the face of a DJ in his craft. Using the usual headphones in his ear, what you see from the figure in the picture are his reactions to what he is hearing: gesturing and shaking his head in progressive movements, our only clue to the inaccessible channel between headphone and ear that happens only in the private space of his head.
The title is a reference to the work Stooges Burn-Out, by Douglas Gordon from 1995, where three artists play the chorus of Stooges “I Wanna Be Your Dog ”, while a cigarette burns. Here, however, the sound is not shared, it happens in a space foreign to that of the observer, who can only imagine the increasing pitch and intensity, the reverberation and the balance, all described by the cumulative language of the gestures.
A metaphor of restraint, Vinicius Burn-Out deals with the repressive silence and the overflowing of language. The sound that is inaudible but ignites through body movements, sparks of noise. The movements of a "possessed" body.
